Abstract

In a liquid cooling system, the pipes 10 and other surfaces cooled below the dew point of the environment cause condensation to take place which needs to be prevented in the region of electronic equipment. To overcome this problem, thermoelectric heat exchanger assembly 12 is mounted on coolant line 10 near the inlet to the electronic package. The cold side of the thermoelectric module 14 is equipped with fins 16 and is maintained at a temperature lower than the coolant temperature. Air circulation device 18, such as a fan, directs the air through the finned area such that the assembly functions as a dehumidifier. Since the temperature of fins 16 is always the coolest in the package, these surfaces collect the condensate. Thus, the dew point in the package is lowered and other surfaces within such package.
