Abstract

A delayed start On time with an instantaneous reset is provided. The circuit utilizes transistor Q1, having collector resistor R2, in conjunction with resistor R1 and capacitor C1 providing a RC base control. Such delays the time for Q1 to turn on and energizes relay winding RR1 when start switch SW is closed. Associated relay contacts RR1-1 provide an energizing circuit for relay winding RR2, which closes contacts RR2-1 to start the control function. When switch SW is opened, relay winding RR2 is de-energized and relay contacts RR2-1 open to terminate the control function. Diode D2 prevents winding RR1 from supplying current to winding RR2. Diode D1 prevents winding RR1 from supplying excessive base-to-emitter reverse voltage to Q1 on turnoff.
