Abstract

A porous resin layer contains a pressure transferable color precursor in its pores. The color precursor reacts with the receiving sheet to form a colored image. The matrix transfer medium is prepared by dissolving 12 parts by weight of NYLON* in 108 parts by weight of 95% ethanol and adding a filler, 10 parts by weight of woodflour. The color precursor, which is 20 parts by weight of a 1% by weight solution of National Aniline color precursor #1 in castor oil, is then added with stirring until the mixture is uniform. The mixture is then coated onto a supporting substrate by conventional techniques. The coating is heated to remove the ethanol and form the matrix layer.
