Form Sets

Individual sets, including carbon slips, are machine printable while attached to a continuous form paper web that serves as a file or master copy. They are then readily removable from the web without need to dispose of a possibly messy carbon web.

A plurality of separate preassembled sets 1 is mounted closely spaced along paper web 2 and movable by pin feed holes 3 through a printer of a data processing system. As shown in A, each set comprises paper slips 4 and 5, cut card 6, and interleaved carbon slips 7...9. Detachable marginal strips a and b are provided along both margins of 4,6,2, but only one margin of 7,5,8,9. Strips a of 4,7,5,8,6,3, and 2 are secured by a superposed series of glue dots or stripes 10 inboard of holes 3. Inboard of 10 are sets 11 and 12 of transversely spaced superposed longitudinal lines of weakness. Lines 11, drawing B, go through all slips and the card and web to permit detachment of strips a to provide clean left edges on 1 and 2. Longitudinal glue stripes or dots 13 between 11 and 12 attach all slips and card 6 to permit set 1 to be detached from a and b yet maintained intact as a unit until separated into individual sheets by tearing along the lines 12 through all sheets of set 1.

Only strips b on outermost slip 4, card 6, and web 2 are secured to each other by superposed longitudinal glue dots or strips 14. The right edges of the other slips 7,5,8,9 terminate substantially in vertical alignment with superposed longitudin...
