Abstract

Retainer 10 holds connector 11 for flat cable 12 in position in which stationary pins 13 are fully received in corresponding openings in connector 11. Retainer 10 is made from wire and included parallel extending parts 14 and 15 connected by parts 16. Curved parts 17 are between parts 14, 15, end 16. Parts 14 terminate in hooked portions 18 overlying a stationary frame member 19. Return bent portions 20 are provided on parts 15 and a bridging portion 21 connects portions 20. Portion 21 extends around boss 22 on connector 11 and portions 20 underlie connector 11. Sheet metal bridging part 23 connects parts 16. Retainer 10 is stressed in its curved parts 17 when put in place so as to forcefully hold connector 11 in full engagement with pins 13.
