Index Table

The two-station index table has independent rotational position adjustments and a locking relation at each of the indexed positions. The table decelerates toward the end of the indexing motions.

As shown at A, cylinder 10 reciprocates a slotted crosshead 11. Lever 12 pivots about the axis of pin 13 and carries pin 14. The latter presents a lower projection 15 received in slot 16 of crosshead 11 and an upper projection 17 which is disposed in radial slot 18 in the index table base plate 19. Index table 20 is rotatable about its vertical axis and presents stop lug 21 which projects downwardly from the lower surface of table portion 22. Each stationary block 23 carries an adjustable stop screw 24 with an end surface 25 engageable with lug 21 to define one of the index positions.

In operation, cylinder 10 retracts crosshead 11 to bring index table 20 against one adjusting stop screw 24 as shown at A and B. Operation of cylinder 10 to move crosshead 11 away causes lever 12 to pivot to the broken line position shown at B. The axis of pin 14 follows the path 28 until lug 21 abuts the other stop screw 24.
