Abstract

Filter assembly 10 presents minimum impedance to the flow of air. The assembly comprises two parts. Filter 12 is made of self-extinguishing urethane foam. Rigid frame 14 is clamped about the periphery of filter 12. Frame 14 is made by matching an elongated metal strip and folding it lengthwise to form a V-shaped channel. Filter 12 is then placed in a press to flatten the edges as at the uncovered edge 16. The V-shaped channel is then rolled on about the periphery of filter 12. Conventional screen retainers are unnecessary.
