Abstract

Mold 3, attached to base 5, can be accurately located with respect to feed sprue 7 and a knockout hole 9 in a plastic molding machine by providing base 5 with slots 11 which engage locating pins 13. The latter are mounted in molding press bedplate 14 and are accurately aligned with respect to the center line of hole 9 and sprue 7. When base 5 is moved into position so that pins 13 are fully engaged in slots 11, then the center line of mold 3 is accurately aligned with sprue 7 and hole 9. Pins 13 can either be fixed in position or be retractable into bedplate 14 of the molding press.
