Abstract

The read-only memory for storing 0 and 1 bits consists of a set of magnetic plated wires 1 positioned in holders 2. Information is stored permanently by providing the proper direction of winding of word wires 3 on holders 2 as they extend past wires 1. Readout is achieved by passing a current through a wire 3 selected by addressing matrix 4 and reading the signal induced in each wire 1. The signal varies in accordance with the winding direction of a wire 3.
