Abstract

Endless photoconductive belt 10 extends about rolls 11 and is continuously driven. The document to be copied is positioned on flat, stationary exposure plane 12. The optical system comprises a pair of mirrors 13 and lens 14. Flash lamps 15, mounted adjacent to plane 12, are employed to flash-illuminate the entire original at one time and project an image onto the traveling belt 10 at exposure station 16. Disposed about the path of travel of belt 10 are a pre-exposure corona charging unit 17, cascade developing unit 18, toner image corona transfer unit 19, and toner cleaning unit 20. Plain paper is fed from supply roll 21 and cut to length by knives 22. The plain paper sheets pass to transfer unit 19. The toner images are fixed to the plain paper sheets by fuser unit 23.
