Abstract

This linear ramp generator circuit develops a sawtooth waveform for an electron beam deflection circuit. Charging capacitor 1 is employed which provides a sawtooth waveform across load resistor 2. Transistor 5 and its bias, together with resistor 6, charge capacitor 1 when transistor 4 is open. Feedback through resistor 3 senses the voltage across capacitor 1 so that the current from source 5 is increased as load 2 increases its current. This feedback through resistor 3 produces a relatively linear sawtooth waveform. Transistor 4 is employed to reset and discharge capacitor 1 when a reset pulse is applied to it.
