Abstract

Garment hanger 11, used in automated handling systems, is provided with a neck having an opening 12 for receiving a rod or probe 13 for automated movement. The bulging neck portion, which is required for opening 12, produces a widening of the neck. This results in a fixed minimum spacing between adjacent hangers on a rack, thus ensuring ready accessibility for probe 13.
