Abstract

Card cartridge 10 doubles as a card handling device and as a card storage tray. Handle 11, formed integral with and located at one end of cartridge 10, is provided with finger slot 12 for easy manipulation of 10 by an operator. Tongue 13, provided at the other end of 10, is adapted to be inserted into a record card machine hopper or stacker to facilitate transfer of the cards into 10. Record cards as represented by dashed line 15 are contained between tongue 13 and manually slidable retainer plate 16. The latter is provided with arms 17 which clasp tray portion 18 of 10. This arrangement requires 16 to be pivoted clockwise in order for it to slide relative to 18. Any counterclockwise pivoting of 16, as is caused by the pressure of cards 15, locks 16 in place.
