Abstract

Checking of a printer setup is accomplished by check contact 10A. The latter is carried by each setup rack 12 which is connected to actuate a print sector not shown. Contact 10A engages contact 10B carried by cam driven bail 14. This rides up with rack 12 and is driven down to restore rack 12.

Dynamic Checking for Printer Setup

Checking of a printer setup is accomplished by check contact 10A. The latter is carried by each setup rack 12 which is connected to actuate a print sector not shown. Contact 10A engages contact 10B carried by cam driven bail 14. This rides up with rack 12 and is driven down to restore rack 12.

Stop pawl 16, biased to the release position, is actuated by stop magnet 18 to stop rack 12 in a selected position in response to a timed emitter signal from emitter digit compare logic 20. Bail 14 continues upward a predetermined amount.

An error signal is generated by error latch 22 if the contacts 10A and 10B are open when a compare from 20 occurs at the selected digit time, through And 24 and Or 26. An error signal is likewise generated through And 28 if the check contacts are closed at the selected digit time +1 as determined by logic 29.
