Abstract

The circuit uses metal oxide semiconductor MOS transistors to provide a true output 3 and a complemented output 4 of the Or function of logic variables applied to input terminals 5 and 6. An MOS transistor has a gate that controls conduction between source and drain terminals according to the potential of the gate terminal with respect to the source terminal. The circuit is particularly suitable for an integrated circuit structure.

The circuit uses metal oxide semiconductor MOS transistors to provide a true output 3 and a complemented output 4 of the Or function of logic variables applied to input terminals 5 and 6. An MOS transistor has a gate that controls conduction between source and drain terminals according to the potential of the gate terminal with respect to the source terminal. The circuit is particularly suitable for an integrated circuit structure.

An elemental unit of the circuit comprises transistors T7...T10. T9 and T10 are N-type transistors and have their source terminals coupled by resistor 11 that is connected to a negative potential. The gate of T10 is connected to ground potential. The gate of T9 is connected to input 6. Thus T9 and T10 and resistor 11 form a current switching circuit. One or the other of these transistors conducts according to the potential at the input terminal.

T7 and T8 are connected in a somewhat similar current switching arrangement with resistor 12. The gate of T7 is connected to ground. The gate of T8 is connected to the drain of T9. Thus when the input signal at terminal 6 is more negative than ground, T10 conducts and gives terminal 3 a low level or logical true value and T7 conducts to give output line 4 a high level or logical complement value.
