Abstract

Glasses of the following compositions, wt. %, 58-70% PbO, 24-30% SiO(2), 2.5 - 4.0% Al(2)O(3), 5 - 12% B(2)O(3) and 1/2 - 1% Cr(2)O(3), CuO or Cs(2)O are compatible with ferrite materials, with respect to thermal expansion coefficient, wetting, and adhesion. They also soften below 700 degrees C. A specific composition is as follows: Wt. % Mol% SiO 27.3 51.9 PbO 60.9 31.2 B(2)O(3) 7.7 12.7 Al(2)O(3) 3.1 3.4 Cr(2)O(3) 0.5-1.0 0.3-0.7.
