Abstract

Coaxial cable 1 comprises inner and outer metallic conductors 3 and 5 and ferrite-loaded plastic jacket 7. The presence of ferrite material in jacket 7 eliminates ground loops and cross-coupling due to the finite resistance of conductor 5 by introducing inductance along such conductor without increasing the diameter of cable 1. Ferrite material can be distributed along jacket 7 either uniformly or in discrete bands to eliminate unwanted currents in outer conductor 5.
