Lamp Socket

The lamp socket permits rotary adjustment of fluorescent lamp 10 to accurately position the line of intensity illumination.

The lamp socket comprises socket member 11. The latter is journalled for rotary adjusting movement by a cup-shaped retainer 12 formed of resilient material. Member 11 receives pins 13 extending from the end of lamp 10. Disposed behind member 11 are contact strips 14 and insulating spacer 15. These parts are held in assembled relation on a vertically extending base member 16 by screws 17. These also maintain member 11 in its adjusted rotary position.

The lower end of base 16 is pivotally mounted by pin 18 to stationary mounting bracket 19. Spring 20 biases base 16 to the position shown in electrical contact with pins 13 of lamp 10. To remove and replace lamp 10, member 16 is pivoted to the left to disengage member 11 from pins 13 of such lamp.
