Abstract

Pressure rolls 1 are biased by bracket 4 against document 2 to force the latter into engagement with feed rolls 3. Bracket 4 is pivotally mounted on shaft 5. The pre ssure roll bias force is provided by spring 6. The force is applied to the center of pressure roll shaft 9 by projection 7 and is thus equally distributed to each roll 1. This prevents document skew. A pair of guide slots 8 is provided to position 9. The height of slots 8 is such that their top edges do not contact 9. Thus the full biasing force is concentrated at 7.
