Toroid 10 can be wired by electrically joining together conductors on printed circuit boards 12 and 14. The latter are positioned on opposite sides of toroid 10.

Boards 12 and 14 have conductors that extend from the interior to the exterior edges of such boards 12 and 14. These conductors face toroid 10 and are terminated in lands 16 that extend around the mentioned edges. To complete the wiring of toroid 10, a wire connection 18 is welded between each opposing pair of lands 16. Connections 18 for around the exterior of toroid 10 are mounted in ladder-like fashion on two parallel supports 20.

The latter are advanced a step at a time to bring connections 18, one after another, into a laser beam weld station. Here they are welded at opposite ends to opposing lands 16 positioned in the weld station by rotation of toroid 10 and boards 12 and 14 around axis 22. The wire for connections 18 on the interior of toroid 10 is fed off of spool 24 into another laser beam weld station while toroid 10 is rotated on rubber rollers 26 to bring weld pads 16 into the weld station.
