Abstract

Small cartridge 10 includes two small reels 11 and 12 holding a single magnetic tape 13. Each reel 11 and 12 is mounted for free rotation in a carrier 14 or 15. The latter are adapted to be physically attached such as by snaps 16...19, or otherwise interlocked. Physically attaching carriers 14 and 15 firmly holds reels 11 and 12 together with the distance between the reel axes small, thus allowing the resultant unit to be inserted in cartridge 10. To play tape 13, the unit is removed from cartridge 10. Carriers 14 and 15 are detached and separated. Reels 11 and 12 are placed on the spindles of tape player 20.
