Abstract

This glass suspension is particularly adapted for use in integrated circuit devices in forming insulating coatings greater than 1000 Angstroms in thickness. The glass composition suspension consists of: Borosilicate glass frit 60-70% by wt. (through 325 mesh) Vehicle 30-40% by wt. The glass frit has the following composition: Silicon Dioxide 61.2% by wt. Boron Trioxide 16.7% by wt. Aluminum Oxide 7.7% by wt. Barium Oxide 2.8% by wt. Other 11.6% by wt. The vehicle has the following composition: Linear Alpha Methyl 33 +/- 1/2% by wt. Styrene Polymer (AMOCO* Resin 18-210) Surfactant (nonyl phenoxy 8 +/- 1/2% by wt.

Diethylene-glycol-mono 59 +/- 2% by wt.

The glass suspension can be applied to the substrate by any suitable method, preferably by screening techniques.
