This structure maintains an electrical conductor in operable relationship with an electrical contact and readily disengages such contact from the conductor.

Electrical contact 12 is mounted within insulating block 14 comprising sections 16 and 18. Passing through collar 20 on contact 12 is screw 22. Holes 24 and 26 are in block 14. Electrical conductor 28 is inserted in hole 24, for example, until it passes through beveled jaw 30 of contact 12. Screw 22 is then tightened down so as to, with the cooperation of jaw 30, more securely bring contact 12 into engagement with conductor 28. When it is desired to break the relationship between conductor 28 and contact 12, screw 22 is retracted. An insulative pin 32 can be inserted through hole 26 so as to raise contact 12.

Beveled edges 34 and 36 of sections 16 and 18 offer resistance to lateral forces when screw 22 is tightened. The lateral forces tend to separate sections 16 and 18. Grooves 38 and 40 enable block 14 to be slidably mounted. The structure lends itself to the duplication of parts, in that two contacts 12 and 42 can be incorporated in a unitary structure.
