The apparatus adjusts the duration of output pulses and selectively multiplies the pulse frequency.

Input pulse train 10 is applied at input terminal 11 and supplied to adjustable delay line 12. Adjustable tap 13 is adjusted to provide a delay equal to the desired duration t of the output pulses. The output of tap 13 is inverted by lnverter 14 and supplied to one input of And 15. The other input to And 15 is connected to terminal 11.

Thus, input 10 is gated by And 15 to terminal 16 for time period t. At that time, delay 12 transmits the input signal at tap 13. This signal is inverted by Inverter 14 and blocks And 15, thus terminating the signal at terminal 16. The resultant signal at terminal 16 comprises standardized pulse train 17. The latter is then supplied to Or 18 and to adjustable delay line 19. This has adjustable output taps 20...22 which can be adjusted to provide an output at exactly specified delays which can comprise exact proportions of time period t between input pulses.

Taps 20...22 are connected respectively to And's 23...25. Separate control lines 26 and 27 are connected to the other inputs of the And's. The outputs of these And's are Ored together and connected to Or 18. The output of the Or comprises output terminal 28. Thus if both control lines 26 and 27 are off, And's
23...25 are blocked and pulse train 17 appears at output terminal 28.

If line 26 is on and line 27 off, And 24 transmits the output from tap 21 and And...
