Abstract

This apparatus cleans articles with corrosive fluids or the like. A jacket wall of a spray chamber is protected from an overspray of a cleaning acid or corrosive fluid. This is realized by the addition of a spaced porous inner wall in cooperation with a pressurized liquid. The latter permeates the porous wall and forms a protective fluid barrier lining. Articles attached to a support arm are inserted and positioned within the inner wall of the spray chamber through an access port which is sealed by a removable diaphragm. Within the base flange or support of the spray chamber, a spray nozzle is mounted and surrounded by drain holes which serve to permit exhaust of the used corrosive fluid.
