Abstract

This bidirectional communication system uses a coupler and a single receiver. A transmission line has drivers D1 and D2 matched to the line impedance. Single receiver R is provided to receive information from both D1 and D2 by using a strip line directional coupler. Signals provided by D1 are fed to R by using the bidirectional properties of coupler C. Signals fed to the line by D2 are reflected on the open end of coupler C and then fed to receiver R.
