Abstract

Pawls 1 and 2 are normally held out of engagement with detent wheel 3 by yoke 4 and spring 5. Energization of solenoid 6 pulls back yoke 4 in slide 7 against spring 5. The pawls move under action of pawl springs 8 and 9 into engagement with detent wheel 3 to stop rotation in either direction. Pawls 1 and 2 are mounted respectively on leaf springs 10 and 11 to reduce the effect of impact between the pawls and the detent wheel.
