Keyboard

This keyboard contains a plurality of keys 10. When a key 10 is operated, as shown, a keylever 11 containing a bellcrank lever 12 is operated to cause an interposer 13 to move to the lower position. Upon movement of the interposer 13 to the lower position, a switch 14 is operated to initiate operation of a ratchet 15 to move interposer 13.

Code bar 16, removably attached to interposer 13, includes a plurality of tabs 16a coacting with bails 17 to establish, through switch closures made as a result of operating these bails, a coded electrical output corresponding to the key operated.

Code bar 16 is preferably made of a material such as plastic to allow the breaking off of unwanted tabs 16A and the formation of the required code. The code bars can be changed by sliding the code bar support 18 to the left, to a stop position to allow extraction by a manual process.
