Abstract

A voltage transducer combination comprises piezoelectric crystal 1 provided with contacts 3 and 5 across which a high voltage V is applied. A bridge-type silicon piezoresistive strain gauge 7 is bonded to one surface of crystal 1 and provided with input leads 9 and output leads 11. When no voltage is applied at contacts 3 and 5, crystal 1 is unstrained and the output voltage of strain gauge 7 along leads 11 is zero. When voltage V is applied between contacts 3 and 5, the strain produced in crystal 1 is transmitted to strain gauge 7. The output voltage along output leads 11 is proportional to the applied voltage and is reduced to a level suitable for electronic circuitry.
