Abstract

The rear portion 10 of this switch housing contains a row of reed relays 12 for each position 1...6. Selector Key 14 is provided in track 16 such that it can be slid to any one of the slotted positions 18. Key 14 has permanent magnet 20 imbedded in it which when rotated into proximity with one reed relay 12 causes the relay to close. Key 14 also has imbedded in it a mu-metal shield 22. When the key is in the sliding or off position shield 22 is interposed between reed relay 12 and magnet 20 so that the magnet 20 has no effect on relay 12.
