Abstract

Individual characters are formed on the cathode ray tube display. This is effected by controlling an individual character raster generated by vertical and horizontal sawtooth circuits 11 and 12. The characters are positioned in one of a plurality of character display locations 13 as determined by vertical and horizontal step generators 14 and 15.

OPD CRT Display

Individual characters are formed on the cathode ray tube display. This is effected by controlling an individual character raster generated by vertical and horizontal sawtooth circuits 11 and 12. The characters are positioned in one of a plurality of character display locations 13 as determined by vertical and horizontal step generators 14 and 15.

Vertical position of locations 13 is accomplished by selecting for conduction one transistor 16, 17, or 18. This operation selects an effective circuit resistance to displace the raster to one of three vertical locations.

Horizontal stepping is accomplished by progressively discharging capacitor
19. This is realized by permitting a timed conduction through transistor amplifier 20 as controlled by clock input signals 21 and discharge rate control resistor 22. Filter capacitors 23 and 24 isolate the raster locating circuits from the sawtooth circuits.
