Abstract

Spacer 10 is for mounting transistors on printed circuit cards. Spacer 10 has four equally spaced radial slots 11 extending from the periphery toward the center. Slots 11 are formed between opposing relatively thin webs 12 supported on main body member 13. At the ends of slots 11 are enlarged holes 14. Eight standoff bumps 15 four on either side of member 13 at the periphery between the slots 11 engage the transistor can on one side and the circuit card on the other. When made for size TO18 transistors, straight leads on a 0. 100'' diameter pin circle fit into holes 14 and spacer 10 is self-retaining on the transistor. Spacer 10 can also be used with leads preformed out radially by two right-angle bends to fit into holes in a 0.125'' matrix.
