Abstract

The soldering and brazing arrangement includes filament lamp 1, for example of the quartz-iodine type, reflector 2, and optical lens system 3 having considerable spherical aberration. Lens system 3 serves to intensify and focus rays 4 passing through it onto a work piece, not shown, for soldering and brazing purposes. For optimum temperature conditions, the bonding operation is performed in region 5 immediately before image plane 6 and particularly at the position where the temperature is at its peak value 7, Tmax.
