Oven Heater and Blower

A recirculating and heating arrangement for a oven is provided for transversely blowing a uniform, constant velocity flow of heated air across a row of articles.

The oven comprises a longitudinal elongated passage 1 for receiving a row of articles to be heated. A pair of unidirectionally tapered manifolds, inlet manifold 2 and outlet manifold 3, is positioned side-by-side across passage 1. Each manifold 2 and 3 is provided with lateral opening 4 which coextends with passageway 1 and the articles to be heated. Opening 4 also forms inlet and outlet ports for, respectively, manifolds 2 and 3.

Conduit 5 interconnects manifolds 2 and 3 to a heater-blower module 6 to form a recirculating path for air flow through manifold 3, out of its outlet port, into the inlet port of manifold 2 and back to module 6. The latter includes a series of electrical heater elements 7 and a blower assembly 8. These are integrated into a unitary construction for easy insertion in and removal from the assembly when replacement is needed.
