Abstract

Present-day keyboard controlled typewriters and printers utilize manually operated key having double and sometimes triple functions. These key caps are adapted to accommodate the double and triple functions. Changeability of key characters becomes more desirable with the advent of keyboard entry devices in which the coding of characters is easily changed. An example is the case of changing type balls on present-day typewriters which particularly points up the need for changeable key caps.
