Abstract

In order to connect to the surface a variably-thick circuit board with wiping contact action, a cammed split socket having left and right housings 11 and 13 with spring contacts 15 and 17 is provided. After printed circuit board 19 is inserted, camming mechanism 21 is operated by turning dual-cammed rod 23. Left and right arms 25 and 27 are urged toward each other about pivot 29. Thus left and right pressure bails 31 and 33 urge contacts 15 and 17 against board 19 with a wiping action and proper retention.
