Abstract

The direction of rotation for motor 14 is determined by which of two silicon controlled rectifiers SCR 10 or 11 is enabled respectively by either a forward control signal source 12 or a backward control signal source 13. Each SCR 10 or 11 controls energization current to a different armature winding 16 or 17 of capacitor induction motor 14 to thus control its direction of rotation. An AC line voltage source supplies the power for motor operation.
