Abstract

Draftsman's lead holder 1 holds brush 2 having exposed fiber glass bristles 3 and rod 4 that extends into the holder. Rod 4 has longitudinal glass fibers bonded by a resin that can be burnt away without harming the glass fibers. When bristles 3 become worn or clogged, new bristles can be exposed by cutting off the old bristles, burning away the resin from the end of the rod to expose the desired length of glass fibers, and then whipping and cleaning the exposed fibers to produce the bristles.
