Abstract

A delay circuit for use with electromechanical control systems having a time delay which can be stopped or recovered at anytime within the duration of the delay is provided by the circuit. The latter comprises a Schmitt trigger, an RC network and a discharge circuit. Turnon of the Schmitt trigger is delayed according to the time constant of the RC circuit. Any time that input H returns to ground, timing capacitor C1 is discharged. Such action turns off the first stage of the trigger causing output O to rapidly return to ground. Thus, short noise pulses cannot charge C1 to the turnon threshold value of the trigger. The discharge circuit comprises two inverters Q1 and Q2. The latter discharge C1 when input H goes to ground.
