Flat Cable Connector

This flat cable connector has spring fingers 11 which extend from cylindrical body 13. Handle 15, connected to shaft 17 which is mounted in bracket 18, rotates body 13 and spring fingers 11. Thus, cable conductor 19 electrically contacts conductor 21.

When making the connection, springs 11 scarf the surface of conductor 19. Such scarfing is sufficient to maintain springs 11 and handle 15 in fully operated position. In this manner, cable 19 and conductor 21 make a firm contact.
