Abstract

For reading information stored at some point in a memory film, a beam of white light is focused by a lens through a light deflector and beam splitter to the point on the film. Light at frequencies corresponding to the information stored is reflected from the film back through the beam splitter.

For reading information stored at some point in a memory film, a beam of white light is focused by a lens through a light deflector and beam splitter to the point on the film. Light at frequencies corresponding to the information stored is reflected from the film back through the beam splitter.

This now directs it to a lens L1 for focusing the light at a small opening in a mask A. All light passing through the opening is collimated by a lens L2 and passed through a prism to a lens L3. This focuses the light of different frequencies on corresponding photodetectors.
