Abstract

This arrangement prevents an operator from having a hand or arm caught by the covers of machine 10. Hinged sections 12 and 14 of the cover are mounted on the frame by hinge 15 and are shown in the closed position by the broken outline. Sections 12 and 14 are provided with a safety guard 16 secured to section 12. Guard 16 has a leading edge 17 that remains substantially vertical as the cover closes, thus pushing the arm or hand out of the way.
