Write Correction System

The circuit attempts to correct a bit recording error by increasing the write current when rerecording an erroneous bit. This follows the detection of a write error on a magnetic surface such as magnetic tape.

Error trigger 16 is set by any error detected while recording data. The erroneous data is then rerecorded one or more times in an effort to obtain errorless recorded data.

And 10 is activated by an error output of trigger 16. a tape back space signal, and a write status. Trigger 11 is set by an output from gate 16. When set, the output of trigger 11 conditions a write current level control 12 to provide a higher than normal write current to write heads for rewriting the data on the magnetic surface.
