Abstract

The circuit reduces the number of indicators required to monitor the error condition of a counter. Three glow states are available to filament bulb 12. Full glow indicates the counter has stopped at reset positions. No glow indicates either the counter has stopped at a position other than reset or the bulb has failed. A low intensity glow indicates the counter is cycling and is passing through reset position periodically.

The circuit reduces the number of indicators required to monitor the error condition of a counter. Three glow states are available to filament bulb 12. Full glow indicates the counter has stopped at reset positions. No glow indicates either the counter has stopped at a position other than reset or the bulb has failed. A low intensity glow indicates the counter is cycling and is passing through reset position periodically.

The reset output from each stage of a counter is applied to And 10 so that bulb 12 receives full current when the counter is in its home or reset condition. The gate inputs also include a convenient set of test points for examining with a scope the state of the counter triggers. The output of And 10 is tested through indicator driver 11 when indicator test line 13 is activated.
