Abstract

In this single turn magnetic read-write head, generally V-shaped, element A is etched or stamped from a sheet of conductive material. The V-shaped apex is tapered transversely of the plane of the element to a sharp point B. Magnetic material C is applied at the apex of the element by electro deposition or spraying. An air gap is provided by machining or grinding the magnetic material to expose point B.
