Abstract

A single slow-speed centrifugal blower 10 supplies cooling air to plenum chamber 11. The latter has mounting holes for receiving nylon pivot bushings 12 for gates 13 to rotate on them. Bushings 12 also serve as an air passage from 11 to gates 13 containing electronic apparatus to be cooled. The tops of gates 13 are supported on nylon bushings 14. These act as an upper pivot and an entrance for intergate cables 15. Each bushing 14 is supported in frame member 16 by adjustable bracket 17.

A single slow-speed centrifugal blower 10 supplies cooling air to plenum chamber 11. The latter has mounting holes for receiving nylon pivot bushings 12 for gates 13 to rotate on them. This arrangement permits the use of a single blower with one air filter rather than having a blower for each gate. There is also a reduction in acoustical noise levels, particularly in the troublesome portions of the noise spectrum. There is no undesirable twisting or pinching strains on cables 15. Further, by using the single slow-speed centrifugal blower in the position shown, electrical noise in the circuits on gates 13 is substantially eliminated.
