Abstract

The circuit is used in DC coupled circuits. It provides a voltage reference level shift between input signals applied to terminal 1 and output signals obtained from terminal 2..1n operation, NPN transistor T1 is maintained in a conducting condition. Input signals applied to terminal experience a voltage level shift as they pass through the circuit. This level shift is equal to be x (R6 + R5))R5. R5 and R6 are the values of resistors 5 and 6, respectively, and Vbe is the base-emitter voltage drop of T1. By varying the ratio of the valleys of resistors 5 and 6, the level shift of the circuit is altered.
