DC Transformer For Superconductive Circuitry

The pluggable DC transformer couples outside energy-supplying bulk components to a superconductive thin film circuitry without relying on direct electrical contact between them.

This is achieved by embedding a half-yoke of ferromagnetic material 12 in electrically insulated substrate 22by employing resinous material 24 as a binder. Ground plane 30 is deposited on the top surface of epoxy resin 24 and substrate
22. Openings 26 and 28 accommodate the second half-yoke 14 which mates with half-yoke 12.

Control lines 32 and 34 are deposited on ground plane 30 so that portions of such control lines are deposited adjacent an opening. Second half-yoke 14 has a primary winding. A DC current through this winding appears on control lines 32 and 34 as higher amplitude DC current.
