This keyboard is for selectively effecting multiple interconnections between conductors and for insuring the discrete depression of one only of a group of keys.

Each key 1 includes key shank la having a rectangular cross section. This is journalled for vertical, sliding movement in main frame 2 and spaced sub-frame
3. There is a compression spring 4 pocketed in counterbore 5 in the frame 2 and pressing against a shoulder on the shank la to bias the key upwardly. Leaf spring 6 has an elongated slot and straddles the key shank 1a. It is necked down on its left end. Thus, it can enter a rectangular opening in slide 7 to prevent multiple signal transmission when a key remains depressed.

A slide 7 and a metallic elastic strip 8 are provided for each key. Slides 7 and strips 8 are joined by insulating blocks 9. Each slide 7 has a rectangular opening which is substantially the same width as the thickness of shank 1a. It is slightly longer than the width of shank 1a in the region immediately above spring 4. Slot 1b in shank 1a is of a thickness and depth sufficient to receive slide 7 when key 1 is depressed. Upturned tab 11 at the left end of each slide coacts with common reset bail 12. This, by movement diagonally upward to the left, resets any of the operated slides. Reset bail 12 is operated by solenoids 13 and guided by slots 12'.
