Card Adaptor for Typewriter

The card adaptor is for an IBM Model B or Model C typewriter. By use of the adaptor, the top of a card is held firmly against the typewriter platen. Blurring of the typed image at the top of the card is thus prevented.

The adaptor is manually inserted. The folded tabs 1 overlap the card holder of the typewriter to hold the adaptor vertically. The top extension 3 is engaged by the bail shaft of the typewriter and is forced back by the bail shaft to firmly hold the card against the platen. The horizontal extensions 5 also engage the bail shaft so that the adaptor is firmly held down. The slot 7 receives the type face during typing.
